Anger Exhibition
University of Westminster 2021
I was given a brief called ‘Visible emotion’ where we have to choose an emotion and create an exhibition involving two outcomes that are qualitative and quantitative. My chosen emotion was anger.
For the exhibition, I included an introduction I designed on Procreate that defines emotion and a slide show of people feeling the emotion of anger. This is so that people can understand the emotion in depth. For my quantitative, I focused on ‘Anger frequency and its effects on different aspects of daily life as a medical student’ as a medicine degree is one of the most intense degrees. I wanted to shed a light on how these students are deeply affected and how the emotion of anger takes a toll on them. I created the quantitative outcome in Procreate. For the qualitative outcome, I created an animation in After Effects that acts as a GIF that shows ‘How anger affects the brain’ using diagrams and medical terms so people can understand. I chose to focus on this topic as I wanted both qualitative and quantitative outcomes to link but focus on different aspects. So thought it would be interesting to include medical terms and diagrams that these medical students study and understand it from their perspective.
To design the exhibition, I used the software After Effects as I wanted to create a virtual space of what the exhibition will actually look like with the outcomes I designed and check if it flows and can be understood by the audience.
