Totoro Scene Recreation
University of Westminster 2020
For my first year in university, I took a film production module in an animation course during my graphic design degree. As I wanted to expand my creative skills and dabble in other areas in the art and design industry. For the brief, we had to recreate a scene in the film called My Neighbour is Totoro. Then once we created the scene all our scenes then get put together to form the film in our own art style approaches to express our creativity. For my scene, I used a mixed-media approach to telling the narrative as I did not want to restrict myself and wanted to test my limits as a designer. For the background, I used acrylic paint on glass and the character and the butterfly that is animated were designed using Procreate software. Then to combine the background and the animation of the characters, I used the software called After Effects.
